How To Make Traditional Burmese Food : Montlatsaung

Most of the Burmese people’s traditional bread is made from rice and beans. So, it is healthy without any chemical dyes. Montlatsaung is a famous and popular traditional food.

To make Montlatsaung, ingredients are as follows:
• Palms – 600 grams
• Water – 1 liter
• Salt – 1 teaspoon
(To melt palm juice)
• Sesame – 30 grams
• Salt – 1 teaspoon (for roasting sesame seeds)
• Rice flour – 150 grams
• Glue powder – 2 table spoons
• Water – 1 liter
• Frankincense – 1 teaspoon
• Ice – 20 grams
• Glutinous rice paste – 10 grams

How to do it ?
1. First, palm in a pot, water. Add salt and bring to a boil.
Then roast the sesame. Crush the roasted sesame a little.

2. Rice flour in a pan to make bread dough, glue powder,water. Add the spices and cook on the stove until it thickens.

The bread rat tail is ready. Press the dough down with a slotted spoon into a bowl filled with ice. That’s it got Montlatsaung. To fix the bread, pour the bread into the glass.

Add the glutinous rice paste and add palm syrup. Sprinkle coconut and sesame seeds on top and enjoy eating traditional Burmese food.
